Disruption to services through Gatwick Airport

A fire broke out this morning on a section of track outside Gatwick Airport.  The emergency services attended and the fire is out, however the electrical third rail, running rail, and some surrounding cables have all suffered extensive damage. 

Network Rail, who own and maintain the signalling and track, have advised us that this damage has rendered two of the four lines through Gatwick Airport unusable.  The repairs necessary to bring the lines back into use are underway and they are hopeful that these lines will be available to us again in time for the evening peak.

We are receiving reports from the worksite every 30 minutes and will update you with more information as it is made available to us.

Qatar Goodwood Festival

The Qatar Goodwood Festival takes place this week and weekend. Train services to and from Chichester will be busier than usual. Please see Goodwood website for more info on the Qatar Goodwood Festival. 


Revised timetable on Mondays to Fridays until further notice

In order to give you more certainty for your journey and enable you to better plan, we have implemented an amended timetable on Mondays to Fridays that we will be able to operate more reliably.

You will be able to claim compensation against trains cancelled in advance or against delays experienced on the day. For full timetables and to claim compensation, visit our revised timetable page.
