Over 800 acres of woodland and chalk downland with impressive views as far as the South Downs.
Box Hill is one of the best-known summits of the North Downs, a prominent 193m (634ft) in height. It is a place to walk, cycle, picnic, enjoy the open air and watch an abundance of wildlife. 10 minutes walk from Box Hill & Westhumble station.
The Men's 250km and Women’s 140km Road Cycling races come through Surrey and around Box Hill over the weekend of the 28/29 July.
The route will be extremely busy with spectators travelling on 28/29 July to Leatherhead, Box Hill & Westhumble and Dorking, therefore a special timetable will be in operation.
All train services between London, Epsom, Dorking and Horsham will have a Cycle Ban on 28th and 29th July. Only folding cycles will be accepted on these trains on both days.
Box Hill & Westhumble station is outside the London Travelcard area, so Oyster cards are not valid. Please check that you have the correct ticket for your journey.
Southern will be running a special service between Victoria, Epsom, Dorking and Horsham on both days for spectators travelling to Leatherhead, Box Hill and Westhumble and Dorking. The Waterloo – Dorking services, operated by South West Trains, will also be calling at Box Hill and Westhumble.
There will be up to six trains per hour on this route. Two of these services each hour will run to/from Horsham until 1900 to provide connections with trains on the Arun Valley line. All trains will call at Box Hill and Westhumble station.

First Great Western will be running an enhanced service between Gatwick Airport, Redhill, Guildford and Reading for spectators travelling to Dorking Deepdene and Gomshall.
A cycle ban will also be in operation on all services run by Southern and South West Trains between London Victoria, Waterloo, Epsom, Dorking and Horsham on both days. Only folding cycles will be accepted on these trains.
