Drusillas Zoo Park

Drusillas is the perfect getaway for families with children, whether you are on holiday, enjoying a weekend break or simply having a day out with the kids. This isn't walkable from Berwick station but just 5 minutes by taxi or 126 bus which runs from the station to right outside the zoo - and totally worth your while if you love animals!

Trains to Bognor Regis

Bognor Regis is a small seaside town on the south coast of England in the county of West Sussex. The town can trace its roots back to when it was a small fishing village. The town still has its fishermen, operating small inshore boats from the town’s beaches.

Butlins

A great family day out or holidays for the whole family, whether you’re looking for an adrenalin rush or just a dip in the pool. Bognor Regis Museum Fantastic exhibitions of historic wireless and radio equipment, the displays include crystal and value domestic wireless and television sets from the 1920s. 15 minutes walk from Bognor Regis station.

Trains to Fishbourne

Fishbourne was discovered by accident during the digging of a water main trench in 1960. The discovery led to nine seasons of excavations showing the site had developed from a military base at the time of the Roman invasion in AD43 to a sumptuous Palace by the end of the first century.

Fishbourne Roman Palace

The remains of one wing of the largest domestic Roman building yet found in Britain can be seen inside a cover building, with many impressive mosaic floors, underfloor heating systems, corridors and courtyards. 10 minutes walk from Fishbourne station.

Haywards Heath has so much to offer, including golf courses and leisure centres. It’s a town in within the historic County of Sussex, the name Hayward comes from Old English meaning an official who protected hedged enclosures from wandering livestock.

Bluebell RailwayBluebell Railway

The Bluebell Railway is a preserved steam railway in East Sussex, recreating the golden age of steam and run largely by volunteers. It has the largest collection of steam locomotives after the National Railway Museum and a collection of carriages and wagons unrivalled in the south of England.

A through-ticket to the Bluebell Railway via East Grinstead is available every weekend (and daily during the school holiday periods). The through-ticket includes rail travel to East Grinstead and UNLIMITED travel for one day on the Bluebell Railway, departing from platform 3 at East Grinstead station.

Price: Through-tickets are available by asking at your local station. The appropriate train fares to East Grinstead are charged, along with the addition of £16.00 for Adults and £8.00 for Children for the Bluebell Railway.

Beech Hurst Park Miniature Railway

A half mile elevated train track, including tunnels and steaming bays. Great fun for the whole family and the kids will love it. 20 minutes walk from Haywards Heath station.

Scrase Valley Nature Reserve

15 acre woodland, with many rare plants; why not take a walk through the reserve and see if you can spot something rare. 20 minutes walk from Haywards Heath station or 14 minutes by bus 31 just outside the station.

Lewes is packed with fun things to do all year round, from visiting museums and castles to seeing the medieval heart of the town.

Lewes castle

Destination - LewesLewes castle is almost 1000 years old, and has so much to see and do. Why not climb to the top of the keep and look out for miles, fire a crossbow or even dress up like a Lady or Knight. 10 minutes walk from Lewes station.

Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum

See the prehistoric reconstruction buildings including a wildfowl reserve with an amazing collection of ducks, geese, swans and a Motor Museum with a superb collection of vintage and classic cars. This isn't walkable from the station but just 15 minutes by taxi - and totally worth your while if you love nature!
