Southampton is home to the region's best concert halls and venues, with three art galleries and two theatres. So if you’re interested in art, theatre, parks or sports then Southampton is the place to visit.

Town Quay Marina is in the heart of Southampton and is walking distance from the City’s cultural quarter, West Quay Shopping Centre and a variety of restaurants, bars and theatres making the marina a vibrant place to stay all year round.
Ocean Village is more than a marina. Surrounded by restaurants, cinemas and bars it offers outstanding recreational facilities. Overlooking the marina is the Royal Southampton Yacht Club which, although a members club, offers berth holders and visitors a warm and friendly welcome. 10 minutes by taxi from Southampton Central station.
Southampton’s old town has played its part in the country’s history and has attracted the interest of William The Conqueror, Henry V, William Shakespeare, the Pilgrim Fathers, Isaac Watts and Jane Austen. Why not walk in their footsteps and see the buildings which are centuries old and if you fancy something peaceful, walk down to the waterfront to see the cruise ships and container vessels which were once important for the D-Day landings. 20 minutes walk from Southampton Central station.
The centre is situated on the south east corner of Southampton Common and provides information about Southampton’s abundant wildlife and the City’s open spaces to protect and increase biodiversity.
The Bargate, parts of which date from around 1175 AD, is one of the finest medieval gateways in Britain. Inside, is a modern art gallery where exhibitions are regularly held.
Newly restored and with great new displays and facilities, Tudor House and Garden is again open to welcome visitors. You can enjoy the newly accessible House, the lovely Garden and the delightful setting of the Old Town.
