Up to four children (aged 5 – 15 years old) may travel Off-Peak anywhere on the Southern network for only £1 each when accompanied by an adult with any valid ticket (including season tickets).
Child £1 tickets can only be bought from the station, so, to save the most money when booking, buy your adult tickets online and then buy your Child £1 tickets from the station ticket office on the day you are travelling.
If you already have an adult ticket (including Season tickets) simply show this at the ticket office to buy your Child £1 tickets. If you are purchasing your Child £1 tickets from a Ticket Vending Machine you will need to purchase your adult ticket at the same time.
Off-Peak means during the times when an Off-Peak ticket would be valid for the journey on the ticket. Example of use:
Please Note: Southern Kids for a £1 tickets are valid on First Capital Connect (FCC) trains that run on the Southern network. FCC however charge £2 for accompanied child tickets and these are valid on Southern trains.
Kids aged between 5 – 15 years old can travel between stations wholly within London Zones 1-6 Off-Peak for a maximum of £1 providing they have a 5-10 or 11-15 Oyster Card.
Providing kids travel Off-Peak, the daily fare is capped at just £1. Travelling during Peak times will cost more.
