Southern aims to run a near-normal service during Saturday's RMT strike

Date: 05 Apr 2017

Train operator Southern will be aiming to run a near-normal service during the RMT’s latest strike on Saturday, 8 April.

During the last RMT strike on 13 March, Southern ran over nine in 10 (90.5%) of its normal train service by using contingency on-board staff and the more than 50% of on-board staff who reported for work.

Despite strike action on Saturday, Southern plans to run a normal train service on all of its routes but one.

Southern’s Passenger Services Director, Angie Doll said:
“We're now running a near-normal service on RMT strike days, so fewer people are being affected by the RMT’s action. This week, we plan to provide almost our entire normal Saturday timetable.”

Full details of service changes can be found at www.southernrailway.com/strike.

Passengers can claim compensation if they are delayed by 15 minutes or more at www.southernrailway.com/delayrepay.

Editor’s notes

And
