Southern Station Manager chuffed with Horley partner's blooming success

Station Manager Robert Walker is delighted that Southern’s station partner at Horley, CountyCare, has been highly commended in the local In Bloom's community category.

Robert said: "I’m so pleased for CountyCare. The group have worked hard at the station, maintaining lovely flower displays to add some wonderful colour for our passengers.  At Southern we are committed to putting our stations at the heart of the communities they serve. Station partnerships see groups adopt their local station, to work with us and help improve the location for the benefit of all.”
CountyCare, which supports people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health throughout Surrey and Lincolnshire, is not content to rest on its laurels, with an eye on also becoming partner for Earlswood and Cheam stations. Community Skills Project leader Kelvin Lindsay said: "Everyone involved in the partnership at CountyCare loves coming over to the station and gains so much from getting involved in tending the plants. We really appreciate Southern’s support of our work and are so proud to be recognised in this way.”
