The fourth annual Brighton Marathon takes place on Sunday 14th April.
In anticipation of thousands of runners and spectators travelling to the event by train, Southern will be putting on additional trains from London, Chichester, Portsmouth West Worthing and Hove. Southern is also strengthening some services with additional carriages on some routes.
Additional services are:
- 06:20 and 06:58 Victoria to Brighton
- 05:58 Chichester to Brighton
- 06:00 Portsmouth Hbr to Brighton
- 06:40 & 08:05 West Worthing to Brighton
- 07:56 Hove to Brighton
Additionally, all Victoria to Brighton and Brighton to Victoria stopping trains will be strengthened from 8 carriages to 12 all day, all Eastbourne to Victoria and Victoria to Eastbourne services will be running via Brighton all day, and the 07:14 from Portsmouth Harbour will be strengthened from 4 carriages to 8.
There will be engineering works between Earlswood and Three Bridges on the day of the Marathon, so fast trains from Victoria to Brighton won’t run as only the slow lines will be available for traffic.
