Southern’s Fleet department works hard to provide reliable, clean trains and we believe that publishing the following data on toilet availability and statistics detailing the functionality of our heating and cooling systems within trains, will be both informative and useful.
All toilets on our trains are checked throughout the day, everyday, for availability and cleanliness.
Occasionally we do have to lock toilets out of service for various reasons, such as vandalism and faults. However, we monitor the status of every single toilet daily. When faults are reported, our engineers and cleaners attend to rectify any problems to ensure that we can provide the facilities you need to make your journey better.
If you would like to report a toilet for any reason, please take the details of the coach number (which is located on a label on the toilet door and inside the toilet) and either telephone 03451 27 29 20 or email us at email@example.com and we will make sure that prompt action is taken as soon as possible.
Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning
At Southern, we continually test our trains heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC*) equipment on board trains to ensure that we can provide the facilities you want to make your journey pleasant and comfortable.
When we experience extremes in temperature, for example in peak summer and winter months, it can put a strain on our HVAC equipment. We are continually looking at ways to make improvements to our HVAC equipment so that it can cope with these extremes.
If you would like to report anything concerning heating or cooling on one of our trains, please take the details of the coach number (which is located on a label next to the internal carriage to carriage doors), and either telephone us on 03451 27 29 20 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will make sure that an engineer attends the unit within 24 hours.
