What is the London Fare Zones area?
London is divided into 6 main fare zones, with zone 1 being the ‘Central’ zone and zones 2 to 6 forming rings around it. These are the same zones that are used for Oyster and all London Travelcards.
Details of the stations included in each fare zone are shown on the attached map.

Oyster Single, Anytime Day Single and Anytime Day Return fares wholly within London Zones 1-6 are priced by zones - just like the London Underground.
Note: Tickets will still be sold from station A to station B rather than between zones eg East Croydon (zone 5) to Clapham Junction (zone 2) will be the same fare as Sutton (zone 5) to Battersea Park (zone 2).
When purchasing Single and Return tickets, you will pay for travel in the zones in which your journey starts and to where it ends. Fares will be based on the most appropriate route which is not necessarily the shortest. It will also be for any zones you travel through, however you will only be charged once for each zone.

GroupSave discount can also be applied to these London zonal fares, where 3 or 4 travel for the price of 2. Fares will be based on the most appropriate route, not necessarily the shortest, after 09:30 Monday to Friday and anytime at weekends and public holidays.
