Unlimited train travel for students in the unizone area

Are you a student who wants unlimited train travel in your area?

Unizone is a unique Season ticket exclusively available for students in the Brighton or Worthing areas.

How to qualify

To buy a new Unizone ticket you will need the following:

  • A valid 16-25 Railcard before you can buy a Unizone ticket
  • Valid ID confirming you are a student at the University of Sussex, University of Brighton, University of Chichester, Plumpton College or hold a National Union of Students (NUS) card for a college in Sussex.

16-25 Railcards are available to the following people:

  • Those aged between 16 and 25 years old can purchase a 1 year or 3 year Railcard
  • Mature students over 25 years old can purchase a 1 year Railcard, but will need:

    • To be attending a recognised college or university, for over 15 hours a week, at least 20 weeks a year. Unfortunately, Open University, distance learning and part-time courses do not qualify.
    • To have the mature student section of the 16-25 Railcard application form completed by their College or University.
    • Have an NUS card or College/University photocard as proof of identity.

Railcards can be purchased online at www.16-25railcard.co.uk or at any staffed Ticket Office.

Please note that you cannot buy the Unizone ticket at ticket vending machines or on the train.

As the 16-25 Railcard includes a photo, there will no longer be a requirement to hold a National Rail photocard anymore.
