Save up to 40% on train tickets with Southern Advance tickets
Buying your Advance train ticket online can save you up to 40%. These tickets are available on selected routes across the Southern network, for example why not travel from London Victoria to Brighton for as little as £3.00 each way or Milton Keynes to Southampton from just £4.50.
New Advance fares
From Monday 11th January 2010 NEW Advance fares to and from Gatwick Airport from the South Coast are available.
You can travel from Southampton, Portsmouth, Chichester, Brighton, Eastbourne and many many more to Gatwick Airport from just £3.00 single.
First Class Advance fares
New First Class Advance fares were introduced on the Brighton to London Victoria route from 2nd January 2010. There is one level of First Class Advance fares, which are priced at £12.50 or £7.50 online.
You can buy your Standard or First Class Advance single ticket at your local Southern ticket office but the 40% discount is only available (on selected journeys) when you purchase your ticket online.
And remember, unlike some of our competitors we don't add booking fees or credit card charges.
Fares are quota controlled and are sold in 3 separate price bands as follows:

Terms And Conditions
- Valid for standard class only unless specified on your ticket
- Reservations are compulsory and must be booked in advance
- Railcard discounts are valid with Senior, Young Persons, Family, Disabled and HM Forces Railcards only**
- Upgrading to First Class is not available on Standard tickets
- Amendments to tickets are permitted subject to a £2 administration fee when amending your ticket online, and must be made at least 5 postal days prior to travel
- Amendments to tickets are permitted subject to a £10 administration fee per ticket at a ticket office, and must be made 24 hours prior to travel
- No break of journey is permitted in either direction
- Tickets are non-refundable
- Advance tickets are valid on Southern trains only unless specified on the ticket
Conditions of use
Tickets purchased are only valid with a reservation coupon for the date and time marked on the coupon. This is issued at the same time as your ticket.
If you board a train service that is not marked on your reservation coupon or you do not have the reservation coupon, you will be treated as not having a valid ticket and you will have to purchase another ticket for your journey.
If you are travelling within the Penalty Fare Area, you may be liable to a penalty fare or prosecution.
