On-train emergencies

In the event of an emergency on board a train, our drivers and conductors are trained to advise and help all passengers including disabled people.

There is information posted in every carriage outlining the actions to take in the event of an emergency. In most cases it is safest to remain on the train and await instructions.

If you would like the emergency information displayed on trains explained to you please contact the assisted travel
help line.

If there is an emergency on the train and you would find it difficult to exit a train without a platform/ramp you should inform someone and remain on the train. If there is a life threatening situation staff will advise you what to do in liaison with the emergency services.
