Southern set to restore full rail service

Southern members of the ASLEF union have suspended all industrial action, including strikes due to take place on 24, 25 and 27 January.

The RMT conductor strike on Monday 23 January is still expected to take place. Southern are currently working on revised plans for the RMT strike on Monday. More information here.

Southern are set to restore their full rail service from Tuesday 24 January. Until then, Southern will have an amended timetable, but will reinstate extra services if possible.

For specific information relating to journeys today, please click here.

You can find compensation and refund information here.

Information for customers with tickets booked on strike days:

If you have a ticket booked for a journey that involves travelling on the Southern rail network on one of the strike days, Southern will be happy to give you your money back if you decide not to travel.

Alternatively you can travel on the first non-strike day after your booking, though we may not be able to guarantee you a seat as trains are likely to be very busy. Please note, your tickets will only be valid on the first non-strike day after your original booking.

If you decide to travel on another operators' trains or on a different type of public transport, while these will not be affected by strikes, they may be busier than usual.

Check before you travel:
Journey Planner has been updated and is showing the planned service for today. All other strike dates may be incorrectly showing a normal service, and NOT the strike service.

Compensation:
You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim. If you decide not to travel, you can get a refund from the company from which you originally bought the ticket.
