Bexhill Museum offers something for everyone - from local history & archaeology to fashion & Bexhill’s motor heritage.
Open six days a week, our unique collections are housed in a distinctive building combining a traditional Edwardian museum with a modern extension.

The Museum runs a wide range of special events, activities and workshops throughout the year for children, families and adults.
Our shop offers local history books, souvenirs, low-cost pocket money toys and gifts for all the family. We also offer coffee, soft drinks and bottled water.

Start your tour with us: We stock an extensive range of tourist information leaflets. Our local volunteers will be happy to help guide you.
Look out for our new Bexhill in WWII gallery. There you can see the actual map used to track air raids on the town and hear the stories of people who lived through the war in Bexhill.

You can also enjoy our famous model railway recreation of the town during the blizzard hit wartime winter of 1940, designed by local celebrity Eddie Izzard.

We also have three hundred years of fashion on parade in the Costume and Social History Gallery and a replica of the car that won the first ever motor race in Great Britain, held along Bexhill’s seafront in 1902 (at a scary 54mph). And don’t forget our dinosaur fossil collection, including a bone from Europe’s smallest dinosaur, discovered in Bexhill.
Bexhill Museum is an independent charity supported by volunteers from the community. Come visit us.
