1. Downing Street

One of the most famous streets not only in London but the world is Downing Street. Home to the famous Number 10, on this street you’ll find the official address for prime ministers since 1735. Within the walls of Number 10, famous political icons such as Winston Churchill have ruled the country.

However, if you want to get close to the famous black door, you may be disappointed as the street is gated off to the public. However, you can still snap a photo if you get there early enough!

2. Baker Street

Named after builder William Baker, Baker Street has been around since the 18th century. In the City of Westminster, this affluent street shot to fame following the popular Sherlock Holmes series. Although you won’t bump into Sherlock Holmes (or Benedict Cumberbatch!) on Baker Street today, you will have the opportunity to wander around and stop off at pleasant shops and cafes.

Once you’ve taken in the rich cultural history of this district, why not head to Regent’s Park for a stroll?

5. Abbey Road

Potentially the most famous street in London is Abbey Road.

Skyrocketing to fame following the Beatles’ Abbey Road album cover, this iconic street is a must-see in London.

Legend has it that the Beatles wanted to save money by shooting the album cover outside Abbey Road studio. Whatever their reasoning, why not head down to Abbey Road to snap an Insta-worthy picture?

Just make sure to stop, look and listen before you cross the famous street, though!
