Following a landslip north of East Grinstead before Christmas, a 20mph speed restriction has been in operation so trains could continue to run safely. However, Storm Ciara and further heavy rain overnight on Wednesday 12th February has caused more damage to the embankment.
This means we are unable to runs trains between Lingfield and East Grinstead. Passengers will need to use rail replacement services to complete their journey.
We are working to fix the railway line as quickly as possible to get trains running again. However, a longer closure will be needed to carry out a permanent repair and will update you when have more information.
For more information on the landslip and the work underway to restore the railway, please click here.
