From Sunday 20 May 2018, if you're travelling with TransPennine Express and would like to bring your bike on board, you'll need to reserve a space for it in advance.
Bike reservations will remain free of charge.
How to book a bike space:
Customers can make a reservation using the methods below, and must do so at least 24 hours in advance of travel:

Online: - When you're buying tickets through tpexpress.co.uk you will be given the option to book a space for your bike.
At the booking office: - Bike reservations can be requested at any booking office.

Step Free Access Note: Step free access is available throughout the station, however customers should note that ramps are steep, and as such assistance cannot be provided for manual wheelchair users via the subway or to/from Platform 1. Station wheelchairs are not available at this location. This station is partially staffed. The station staffing hours are: Monday to Saturday: 05:15 - 19:45 Sunday: 09:00 - 19:45 Station staff can provide assistance throughout the station (as per the exceptions outlined above), and with boarding and alighting the train. Customers requiring assistance should make themselves known to station staff no less than 20 minutes prior to the departure time of their train. Assistance can be requested in advance by contacting the TransPennine Express Assisted Travel Team on 0800 107 2149 (18001 prefix for TextRelay). Outside of staffed station hours, assistance to board and alight the train can be provided by the Conductor. The conductor is usually positioned at the rear of the train. Customers requiring assistance to navigate through the station when the station is unstaffed are requested to contact the TransPennine Express Assisted Travel Team on 0800 107 2149 (18001 prefix for TextRelay) to arrange alternative transport to the closest station where assistance can be provided.
