Why choose to travel anytime?

  • Flexible travel
  • Potential discounts if you have a Railcard. Check ahead to see if there are time restrictions that apply
  • Potential GroupSave discounts. Find out more here

How do they work?

These all-day train tickets give you the freedom to travel at any time of the day, including peak times. You can also break your journey at any station on the route and pick up the journey later. This means you can go and visit someone on your way home or head to a meeting near a station on the way in before continuing into London.

Anytime Day (single and return) tickets have to be used on the date shown on your ticket or up to 4.29am the following day. Anytime single tickets must be used within two days of the date shown on the ticket or up until 4.29am after the last day of validity.

How are Anytime Return tickets different to Anytime Day Return tickets?

Here’s how Anytime Return tickets work:

If you’re not coming back on the same day or you’re unsure about how long you’re going to be away for, then the Anytime Return tickets are perfect for you. With these, you can leave within five days of the date of your outgoing ticket and come back on any day within the next month.

Make sure you check your journey first using the journey planner though, as not all journeys have Anytime Return fares available.

How are Anytime Day Return tickets different to Anytime Day Travelcard tickets?

This is how Anytime Day Travelcards work:

If you plan on travelling into London and returning the same day, you can use an Anytime Day Travelcard to make the trip. This can be used anywhere in Zones 1-6 on the Tube, London buses, London Overground, trams and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) trains.
