Train Service Updates

See if there is any service disruption on the Southern network, check live departures and arrivals from any station or find out about any alternative routes during unplanned disruption.

On Sunday the Brighton Marathon is taking place:
- Stations and trains around Brighton will be very busy
- Especially Brighton and Hove stations
- Preston Park station will be closed until 11:00 on Sunday morning
- It may be necessary to queue for trains at the busiest times
- Please allow extra time for your journey

For the week before and after Easter - between Monday 30 March and Friday 10 April - there will be small changes to Southern services between Littlehampton / Bognor Regis / Eastbourne and London Bridge and between East Grinstead and London Victoria.

On Monday to Thursday, the additional peak-time trains between Littlehampton / Bognor Regis / Eastbourne and London Bridge will not run.

This applies to the:
● 06:05 Littlehampton to London Bridge via Worthing
● 06:47 Eastbourne to London Bridge
● 07:02 Bognor Regis to London Bridge via Horsham
● 17:03 London Bridge to Eastbourne
● 17:33 London Bridge to Littlehampton via Worthing
● 18:03 London Bridge to Bognor Regis via Horsham

If you normally travel on these trains you will be able to use other services to complete your journey - with connections to alternative trains available at stations such as Preston Park, Haywards Heath, Three Bridges and East Croydon.

For Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be eight (four in each direction) additional off-peak trains between East Grinstead and London Victoria to provide a half-hourly service during the middle of the day. A half-hourly service already runs all day on Thursdays and Fridays.

Both of these changes are being made to better support demand during these two weeks over the Easter break as demand for peak time trains decreases and more people travel in the off-peak period instead. Please remember that there will also be engineering work taking place over this period, as well as amended timetables for bank holidays.

If you have a train ticket dated from Saturday 28 February and have been affected by ongoing airline disruption, you are able to use your ticket:
- On a different day
- Earlier or later on the same day (if you have an Advance ticket)
- During the morning or evening peak (if you have an Off-Peak or Super Off-Peak ticket)
Please ensure that you have evidence of your original airline booking, along with a flight cancellation or amendment notification, ready to show staff. If you are no longer travelling due to a flight cancellation, unused tickets will be entitled to a fee-free refund.

Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria and United Arab Emirates.

Planned engineering work for Today

Buses replace late night / end of service trains between Haywards Heath and Lewes / Polegate and Eastbourne and between Lewes and Seaford from Tuesday 7 to Friday 10 April

Engineering work is taking place overnight in the Lewes area ending Friday morning, closing some lines.

From approximately 23:00 until the end of service on Tuesday to Thursday evenings, buses will replace trains between Haywards Heath and Lewes / Polegate and Eastbourne and between Lewes and Seaford.

Journey times will be increased when using replacement buses.

Amended late night Southern service between London Victoria and Dorking / Horsham from Tuesday 7 to Thursday 9 April

Between London Victoria and Dorking / Horsham

Engineering work is taking place overnight between Balham / Streatham and Sutton via Mitcham Junction, closing some lines.

The 23:15 Dorking to London Victoria train will be diverted between Sutton and Balham, and run non-stop. A replacement bus will run from Sutton to London Victoria calling at stations via Mitcham Junction.

The 23:25 London Victoria to Horsham train will be diverted between Balham and Sutton, and run non-stop. A replacement bus will run from Streatham Common to Horsham calling at stations via Mitcham Junction.

Journey times will be increased when using replacement buses.

Engineering work is taking place in the Oxted area ending Friday morning, closing some lines.

From approximately 22:30 until the end of service on Monday to Thursday evenings:

The 22:07 London Bridge to Uckfield will terminate at Oxted. A replacement bus will run from Oxted to Uckfield
The 23:22 London Victoria to East Grinstead service will terminate at East Croydon. A rail replacement bus will run from East Croydon calling at stations to Oxted / East Grinstead
The 23:53 London Victoria to Oxted train will terminate at East Croydon. A replacement bus will run from East Croydon calling at stations to Oxted

Edenbridge Town: Ticket Vending Machine problem

The ticket vending machines are out of order at Edenbridge Town station.
Epsom: Lifts out of order

The lifts will be out of order between Platforms 1 & 2 and the subway from now until further notice at Epsom station.
Additional Information:
This affects Southern services towards London Bridge, Dorking and Horsham and South Western Railway towards Dorking and Guilford. Please speak to station staff for further assistance
Hampden Park: Ticket Vending Machine problem

The ticket vending machines are out of order at Hampden Park station.

Hove: Lifts out of order

The lifts will be out of order between platforms 1, 2 & 3 and the subway from 10:00 on 07/04/2026 until further notice at Hove station.
Additional Information:
This affects Southern services towards Brighton and London Victoria.Step free access is still available via the Station Approach entrance. Please speak to station staff for further assistance.
Leatherhead: Lifts out of order

The lifts will be out of order from now until further notice at Leatherhead station.
Additional Information:
This affects changing between platforms. Step free access is still available between platforms by using Station Approach and Randalls Road. Please speak to station staff for further assistance
London Bridge: Escalators out of order

The escalators will be out of order between platforms 13, 14 & 15 and the main concourse from now until further notice at London Bridge station.

This affects some Southern services towards East Croydon, Caterham, Sutton & Beckenham Junction. Please speak to station staff for further assistance
Mitcham Eastfields: Lifts out of order

The lifts will be out of order between Platform 1 and Platforms 2 via the station footbridge from 18:58 on 07/04/2026 until further notice at Mitcham Eastfields station.

Seaford: Toilets out of order

The Accessible toilets at the station are out of order at Seaford station.
