Planned Changes to Train Times

Details of planned engineering works on the Southern network.

Planned engineering work

  • To maintain and improve the railway, Network Rail carries out regular planned engineering works on the Southern network
  • Work normally takes place at weekends or after 10 pm – but occasionally services are impacted at other times
  • Information will be available here as soon as it is available
  • Please check before travelling, and see our live departures and arrivals for up-to-the-minute information

No trains to / from / via Streatham on Sunday 2 April

Routes affected:
Southern between London Bridge and East Croydon Thameslink between Bedford / Luton / St Albans City / London St Pancras International / London Blackfriars / London Bridge and Sutton

Engineering work is taking place between Tulse Hill and Streatham, closing various lines.

Southern:

No trains will run to / from Streatham. For Streatham, you can use alternative nearby stations.

An amended timetable will operate, with trains calling at additional stations to cover gaps in service.

Trains will run between:

  • Dorking and London Victoria via Sutton and West Croydon.
  • Sutton and Epsom Downs.
  • London Bridge and Caterham via Tulse Hill and Crystal Palace.

 

Thameslink:

No Thameslink trains will run between Tulse Hill and Wimbledon via Tooting, or between Tulse Hill and Sutton via Mitcham Junction.

Trains will run to an amended timetable between West Hampstead Thameslink and Wimbledon via Sutton, running non-stop between Tulse Hill and Sutton.

Streatham - Sutton (via Wimbledon): Routes 57 / 200 / 280 / 164 / 152 / 413 / 93 / 154 / 80.

Streatham - Sutton (via Mitcham): Routes 280 / S1 / 201 / 127 / 118 / 80 / S3.

Nunhead - Route P12.

Ravensbourne - Route 354.

Amended service between East Croydon and Redhill on Sunday 2 April

Routes affected:
Southern between London Victoria / London Bridge and Caterham / Tattenham Corner / Redhill / Reigate / Brighton  Thameslink between London Bridge and Brighton

Engineering work is taking place between Selhurst / East Croydon and Purley / Redhill, closing various lines.

Southern:

All day on Sunday, trains will run to an amended timetable between Selhurst / East Croydon and Purley / Redhill.

A reduced number of trains will run between Redhill / East Croydon and London Victoria.

No direct trains will run between Reigate and London Victoria. Trains between Tonbridge and Redhill will be extended to run to and from Reigate. You can use alternative trains between Redhill and London.

East Grinstead trains will only run between East Croydon and East Grinstead. You can use alternative trains between East Croydon and London Victoria.

Thameslink:

Trains between London Bridge and Three Bridges via East Croydon will run to an amended timetable.

Buses replace trains between Three Bridges and Horsham on Sunday 2 April

Routes affected:
Southern between London Victoria and Horsham / Bognor Regis / Portsmouth Harbour Thameslink between Peterborough / London Bridge and Horsham

Engineering work is taking place between Three Bridges and Horsham, closing all lines.

Southern:

Buses replace trains between Three Bridges and Horsham.

Trains that usually run between London Victoria and Portsmouth Harbour via Horsham will be diverted to run via Hove, and trains that usually run between Bognor Regis and London Victoria via Horsham will run between Bognor Regis and Horsham only.

Thameslink:

Trains will not run between Crawley and Horsham.

You can use Southern replacement buses between Three Bridges and Horsham.

No evening / morning service between Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 April

Southern between East Croydon / Clapham Junction and Watford Junction

Engineering work is taking place between Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction, closing various lines.

After 20:00 on Saturday until 12:00 on Sunday, and again after 21:00 on Sunday, no trains will run between Shepherds Bush and Watford Junction.

Ticket acceptance:

You can use alternative Southern services between Clapham Junction and London Victoria, London Underground between Victoria and Euston, and London Overground / London Northwestern Railway between London Euston and Watford Junction.
