  • To maintain and improve the railway, Network Rail carries out regular planned engineering works on the Southern network
  • Work normally takes place at weekends or after 10 pm – but occasionally services are impacted at other times
  • Information will be available here as soon as it is available

Planned engineering work for Today

Buses replace trains between Lewes / Haywards Heath and Hastings / Seaford / Eastbourne after 23:45 from Monday 22 October until Thursday 25 October

Routes affected:
Between Brighton and Eastbourne / Lewes / Seaford and also between Haywards Heath and Eastbourne

Engineering work is taking place between Lewes and Glynde / Seaford closing all lines between these stations after 23:45.

After this time, buses will replace trains between Lewes / Haywards Heath and Seaford / Eastbourne / Hastings.

Buses replace trains between Leatherhead and Dorking / Horsham after 22:30 from Monday 22 to Friday 26 October

Routes affected:
South Western Railway between London Waterloo / Wimbledon and Dorking Southern between London Victoria and Dorking / Horsham and also between West Croydon and Dorking  

Engineering work is taking place between Leatherhead and Horsham, closing lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.

From 22:30 until the end of service each night, buses will replace trains between Leatherhead and Dorking / Horsham.

Amended overnight Southern & Thameslink services from Monday 22 to Tuesday 23 October

Routes affected:
Southern between London Victoria and Epsom / Epsom Downs / Horsham Thameslink between Bedford / St Albans City and Sutton

Engineering work is taking place from 23:20 each night between Balham / Tulse Hill and Sutton, closing various lines.

Southern

Services between London Victoria and Epsom / Epsom Downs / Horsham will be diverted and will not call at Carshalton, Hackbridge, Mitcham Junction and Mitcham Eastfields.

A rail replacement bus service will operate between Balham and Sutton.

Thameslink

Trains from St Albans to Sutton will run non stop from Streatham to Sutton.

Trains from Sutton to Bedford will run non stop from Sutton to Tulse Hill.

Customers for stations between Tulse Hill and Sutton (via Mitcham Junction) are advised to use Southern rail replacement bus services.

Customers for stations between Tulse Hill and Sutton (via Wimbledon) are advised to use Local bus services.
