Temporary timetable

On a few rare occasions, we may need to introduce a temporary timetable. Together with Network Rail, we have produced contingency plans for rare occasions of severe network-wide disruption, such as when heavy snowfall and icy weather conditions severely affect the railway.

To provide a reliable service it may be necessary to run fewer trains than normal.

This will enable Network Rail to focus on ensuring that main railway lines remain free of snow or ice build-up which will allow key routes to run with fewer delays.

A normal service will operate on most routes. There will be a less frequent service on some routes between London and the south coast.

On Monday 21 January 2013, in addition to this amended timetable, there will also be additional cancellations which can be found here.

This timetable will also be in operation for Tuesday 22 January 2013, with amendments.
