Watch the full-length “Reclaiming Narratives by Rail” panel session hosted by Scarlette Douglas, The Flygerians and Southern’s Race Equality Network
We ended a month of celebrations with a special live event at the UK’s first majority Black female-owned shopping arcade Peckham Palms, home to the award-winning, critically acclaimed The Flygerians restaurant. Worst House on the Street and A Place In The Sun presenter and TV trailblazer Scarlette Douglas moderated a live panel session featuring Flygerians founders entrepreneurs Jess and Jo Edun, and founder members of the GTR Race Equality Network employee group Howard Thomas and Markus Balogun.
Together, we had a challenging, inspiring and entertaining conversation around:
- How the panellists reclaim narratives in their respective fields
- Southern’s work 10 years into the Get Into Railways programme with The King’s Trust, developing diverse talent and boosting equal opportunities, including Black community representation in the rail industry
- Our chosen Southern destinations to keep the conversation going beyond Black History Month, inspiring you to get out and explore!
