MIND

A new train of thought

Working with Mind

At Southern Railway, we believe good mental health should be part of everyone’s journey. That’s why we’re proud to team up with Mind, the UK’s leading mental health charity, for a three-year partnership.

We know that one in four of us will experience a mental health problem this year, and we’re committed to take action for our people, our passengers and our communities.

Together, we’re raising awareness and smashing stigma.

And making sure no one faces mental health problems alone.

Why it matters

Rail travel connects people, but so many travel feeling isolated, overwhelmed or unsure where to turn. Mental health affects every journey, whether you’re heading to work, visiting family or simply moving through the day.

Together with Mind, we’re helping to make the railway a place where people feel seen, supported and safe.

What we're doing

Training our teams

We’re giving every employee the tools they need to spot the signs of poor mental health and offer real help. So, whether you’re boarding a train or working behind the scenes, someone will always be ready to listen.

Spreading the word

Through campaigns across our stations, trains and digital channels, we’re helping raise awareness around mental health. Because when people know where to turn, they’re more likely to get the help they need.

Offering direct support

From helplines to info packs, we’re making sure practical support is never far away – for staff, for passengers, for everyone.

Raising vital funds

We’re rolling out exciting fundraising events across our network – from team challenges to fundraising weeks. Every pound raised helps Mind offer life-saving support to even more people!
