Coastal connections are getting better, faster & smoother
From the 2nd June 2024, Southern Railway’s West Coastway timetable changed. The new train timetable was designed to bring better journey times and frequencies, more capacity and improved reliability to provide you with greater connectivity along the south coast.
Brighton & Hove timetable changes
- Double the number of trains to Worthing / Chichester each hour
- Faster and more frequent services to Chichester and Southampton, designed to beat the road network
- A new direct hourly service to Littlehampton
- For Hove - Trains to London Victoria are now half-hourly throughout the whole day
Worthing timetable changes
- Double the number of trains to Brighton each hour
- More trains towards Littlehampton, Chichester and Southampton
Southampton timetable changes
- Trains to Brighton are now half-hourly and faster
- Southern services between Brighton and Southampton will now stop at Woolston for better connections to Southampton’s local bus services
- Even half-hourly departures times from Southampton for journeys towards Havant and Chichester
Portsmouth timetable changes
- Trains to London Victoria and Gatwick Airport are now half-hourly rather than hourly
- More services will start and finish at Portsmouth Harbour, improving connections for the Portsmouth docks area and local ferry services
Chichester timetable changes
- Double the number of trains towards Worthing and Brighton each hour
- Faster journeys for customers heading to Brighton
Arun Valley timetable changes
- Amberley will now receive a half-hourly service towards Bognor Regis or London Victoria
- Christ’s Hospital will now receive a half-hourly service towards Bognor Regis or London Victoria
- Horsham will now have half-hourly services to Portsmouth Harbour for better connections for the Portsmouth docks area and local ferry services
