Planned engineering work for Today

Amended late night trains between Littlehampton and Brighton on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 March

Routes affected:
Southern between Southampton Central / Portsmouth Harbour and Brighton

Engineering work is taking place between Worthing and Littlehampton, closing various lines on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

From 23:30 until the end of service each night, buses will replace trains between West Worthing / Worthing and Brighton / Hove.

Additionally:

The 22:20 Southampton Central to Brighton train will not call at Southwick or Portslade. A replacement bus will run from Worthing to Brighton calling at these stations
The 22:52 Portsmouth Harbour to Brighton train will terminate at Littlehampton. A replacement bus will run from Littlehampton to Brighton, departing at 23:53 and calling at all stations

Buses replace late night trains between Eastbourne and Hastings / Ore from Monday 2 to Thursday 5 March

Between London Victoria / Eastbourne and Hastings, and also between Hastings / Ore and Ashford International

Engineering work is taking place between Hastings and Ore / Ashford International, closing some lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.

From 23:00 until the end of service each night, buses will replace trains between Hastings and Ore / Ashford International.

Journey times will be increased when using replacement buses.

The lifts will be out of order between platforms 7 & 8 and subway from 14:30 on 02/02/2026 until further notice at Watford Junction station.

This affects some Avanti West Coast and London North Western Railway services towards London Euston, Tring and Milton Keynes Central. Please speak to station staff for further assistance
