Buses replace trains between Purley and East Grinstead / Uckfield on Sunday 26 January

Routes affected:
Southern between London Victoria / Oxted and East Grinstead / Uckfield

Engineering work is taking place between East Croydon and Oxted / Uckfield closing all lines.

Buses will replace trains between:

  • Purley (for rail connections to / from East Croydon / London) and East Grinstead (via Upper Warlingham and Oxted).
  • Oxted (for bus connections to / from Purley) and East Grinstead, calling at all stations.
  • Oxted and Crowborough (for bus connections to / from Uckfield) calling at all stations.
  • Crowborough and Buxted / Uckfield.

Woldingham will be served by a minibus service to / from Upper Warlingham.

Replacement buses will not run to / from Riddlesdown. Customers for Riddlesdown can use their rail tickets on route 412 to / from Purley.

Customers already holding tickets for Uckfield / East Grinstead - London journeys may wish to drive to nearby stations on other routes where these tickets will be accepted:

  • Southern and Thameslink (but not Gatwick Express) journeys between Haywards Heath and London Bridge / Victoria / Blackfriars
  • Southeastern journeys between Tunbridge Wells and London Bridge

Please note that services between Tonbridge and Redhill via Edenbridge continue to be replaced by buses as a result of a recent landslip.

Great Western Railway between Cardiff Central / Bristol Temple Meads / Westbury and Portsmouth Harbour / Brighton South Western Railway between London Waterloo and Portsmouth & Southsea / Portsmouth Harbour Southern between London Victoria / Brighton and Portsmouth Harbour / Southampton Central

Engineering work is taking place between Fareham / Havant and Portsmouth Harbour, closing all lines.

Great Western Railway:

Buses will replace trains between Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour. Trains that usually run to / from Brighton will not operate beyond Fareham. Customers travelling to / from Brighton should use replacement buses, and change en-route to Portsmouth Harbour for Southern bus / train services to / from Brighton.

South Western Railway:

Buses will replace trains between Fareham and Portsmouth Harbour, and also between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour.

Southern:

Buses replace trains between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour.

  • Lingfield: Ticket Vending Machine problem

    The ticket vending machines are out of order at Lingfield station.
    Additional Information:
    Please speak to station staff for further assistance.

  • Peckham Rye Facilities: Various changes

    At Peckham Rye station, the following issues have been reported:
    The ticket office has not opened and is not now expected to open before 13:00.
    Ticket Vending Machines are working correctly.
    The station will have reduced staffing from now until further notice.

  • Tadworth: Ticket Vending Machine problem

    The ticket vending machines are out of order at Tadworth station.

  • Watford Junction Facilities: Various changes

    At Watford Junction station, the following issues have been reported:
    Step free access will be unavailable throughout the station from now until 01/02/2020.
    The lifts will be out of order from now until 01/02/2020.
    Additional Information:
    This affects all Southern services which call at Watford Junction. Step free access is available from the London Overground platforms at Watford Junction. Please speak to station staff for further assistance.
