Train Service Updates

See if there is any service disruption on the Southern network, check live departures and arrivals from any station or find out about any alternative routes during unplanned disruption.

A fault with the radio system between the driver and the signaller has now been resolved, allowing all lines to reopen.
Trains across the network may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised whilst service recovers.
Disruption is expected until 14:30.
Customer advice:
If you are currently travelling, delays are expected. Some trains may be cancelled or subject to last minute service alterations.
Thameslink and Great Northern services could still be impacted, as well as an ongoing issue at Stevenage which is causing some disruption to our services.
Please carefully check station information screens and listen to announcements before you board. Your overall journey time may take at least an additional 30 minutes.

You can use your existing ticket at no extra cost on the following services:
- Alternative Southern routes across the network
- Alternative Thameslink services across the network
- East Midlands Railway services between Bedford and London St Pancras International
- London Underground between all London terminals
- London Buses between Finsbury Park and Moorgate

Can you tell me more about the incident?
There has been a problem with the railway's radio system. This links train drivers with the signallers who control the rail traffic on each route.
This situation has now been resolved, and the network can start to return to a booked timetable. There will be some residual disruption whilst service resumes.

Engineering work is taking place between in the Purley / Norwood Junction areas, closing some lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.

Southern:

The following services will be amended:

The 22:07 London Bridge to Uckfield service will terminate at Oxted. A replacement bus will run from Oxted to Crowborough / Uckfield
The 23:22 London Victoria to East Grinstead service will not run. You are advised to use alternative trains to travel from London Victoria to East Croydon
The 23:53 London Victoria to Oxted service will terminate at East Croydon

Replacement buses will run from East Croydon to Oxted / East Grinstead.

Journey times will be increased when using replacement buses.

Thameslink:

Between 23:45 and 05:00 each night, Thameslink services running through Purley / Norwood Junction will run to an amended timetable, extending journey times.

Clapham Junction: Footbridge refurbishment

Footbridge refurbishment
Additional Information:
From Tuesday 24 March 2026 until November 2027, the footbridge at Clapham Junction will be modernised, section by section. The bridge will remain open, but space will be reduced. If you are travelling to or changing trains at Clapham Junction, please allow extra time for your journey.

The lifts will be out of order between platform 1 and the exit from now until further notice at Crowborough station.

The lifts will be out of order between platform 0 and the subway from now until further notice at Redhill station.

The lifts will be out of order between platform 2 / 3 and the footbridge from now until further notice at Southampton Central station.

Southampton Central: Lifts out of order

The lifts will be out of order between platforms 1, 2 & 3 and the footbridge from 05:52 on 25/04/2026 until 23:59 on 26/05/2026 at Southampton Central station.
Additional Information:
Step-free access is still available to platform 1 via the Blechynden Terrance entrance and to platform 4 via the entrance on Western Esplanade (Premium and Short Stay Car Park) . Accessible taxis are available at both entrances for customers to transfer between entrances, if required.
The lift on Platform 2 & 3 affects Southern services towards Brighton, and which terminate at Southampton Central, South Western Railway services towards Weymouth and London Waterloo, Great Western Railway services towards Portsmouth Harbour, and Cross Country services towards Bournemouth and Newcastle.

Streatham: Toilets out of order
