Train Service Updates

See if there is any service disruption on the Southern network, check live departures and arrivals from any station or find out about any alternative routes during unplanned disruption.

A safety inspection of the track is taking place near Hilsea. As a result, some trains running through this station may be subject to a speed restriction resulting in journeys being delayed by up to 20 minutes. Some trains may be cancelled or revised to run to different stations or only run on part of the normal route.
Disruption between Southampton Central / Havant and Portsmouth Harbour is expected until the end of the day.

If your train is cancelled, you may travel on either of the two services before, or two services after, your original train. If these are peak services or less flexible, you can still travel with your original ticket, at no extra cost.
You may wish to consider postponing your journey until service returns to normal.

Southern customer advice:
A safety inspection of the track over a bridge was taking place near Hilsea. Trains can now run to and from Portsmouth Harbour at a reduced speed.
Journeys in this area will take around 30 minutes longer as a result. If there is no direct service on your normal route, you will need to change trains to get to your destination.
Service alterations:
Please see below alterations to trains:
- No Southern services will call at Portsmouth Harbour. Please change at Fratton or Portsmouth & Southsea and use South Western Railways services to complete your journey
- Some services from Brighton to Portsmouth & Southsea will terminate at Chichester or Littlehampton. Please make sure you check station boards or journey planners before departing
- Trains between Brighton and Southampton may start or finish at different stations. Please check station boards and journey planners before you board

Network Rail are undertaking safety checks of equipment on a bridge near Hilsea. They have reported that while the assessments are being made, this will cause delays to services, and some service changes will need to be made to reduce congestion.

Engineering work is taking place between Haywards Heath and Brighton, closing some lines overnight on Monday to Wednesday evenings.

The 23:25 London Victoria to Brighton service will be diverted between Haywards Heath and Brighton to run via Lewes not calling at Burgess Hill and Hassocks.

A rail replacement bus will operate from Haywards Heath at 00:26 to Brighton, calling at Burgess Hill and Hassocks.

The 00:02 London Victoria to Worthing / Eastbourne service will terminate at Three Bridges.

Rail replacement buses will operate from:

Three Bridges at 00:58 to Brighton / Worthing
Brighton at 02:08 to Worthing

The lifts will be out of order between platforms 1 & 2 and the footbridge from now until further notice at Haywards Heath station.

This affects step free access between the Boltro Road and multi storey car park entrance to platforms 1 & 2 for services towards Brighton, Littlehampton & Eastbourne. Step free access is still available between these platforms and the subway. Please speak to station staff for further assistance
